Shiba Foundation
2026 Change Scholarship
Caylee Dongmo
Each year we partner with members of the local community to provide new opportunities to those who are ready to begin their own self-development journeys. Our scholarship recipients are selected by a diverse panel of judges who carefully review each essay submission. The candidates selected exhibit high levels of intrinsic motivation, have overcome major life changes, and posses the desire to help others through community engagement.
Thank you Kitsap County for your support!

Community Spotlight
In collaboration with the Miss PSK pageant, Shiba Foundation is proud to support local young women as they navigate personal and professional development. This year we offered psycho-educational workshops outlining the physiological and cognitive impacts of stage fright. To reinforce learning, we recreated scenarios that generate a stage fright response and observed the impact on the contestant's ability to think on the spot. Engaging in active self-regulation allows us to overcome fears, reduce the impact of stress, and think clearly under pressure. This simple approach supports development by creating awareness of the physical and cognitive processes and how they function differently when we're calm vs under stress.
